System Requirements

Supported Systems Mortgage Office

Windows XP/Vista/7 with all current service packs and critical updates applied. We recommend at least 1 gig minimum system memory with XP and 2 gig minimum system memory with Vista/7. Also make sure your CPU, video, network card etc. meet requirements for the version of windows you are running.

1 - High speed internet connection (at least DSL speed, T1 or higher recommended).
2 - Adobe Reader 8 or higher, 9 recommended. All reports are created in PDF format. Adobe Acrobat (optional) if you would like to create Processing documents in PDF format, Processing reports are already created in PDF format.
3 - Adobe Flash Player 9 or higher, 10 recommended. Functions within Mortgage Office and Web App require Flash Player.
4 - Windows graphical printer(s) setup as local or network printer to the workstation being used. For processing document printing it is recommended to be a laser printer that allows letter and legal sized paper to be available at the same time as most document packets contain both paper sizes.
5 - Local Administrator login required at the workstation for initial installation of the Processing forms viewer application.
6 - Internet Explorer 8. Mortgage Office sites added as trusted sites with default level on those sites set to low. Specific list will be given during installation.

Supported Systems MC OFFICE

UNIX

Networks

Windows 2000/2003 Server (Terminal Services recommended). Near if not equal to UNIX performance. With Terminal Services activated, all processing is done on the server and screen displays and printing to network printers are the only things transmitted between the network and the workstation.

Terminals/Workstations (UNIX)

A terminal that will emulate a Data General D200 or higher 100% or a PC with SmarTerm Office 10.0 or higher. The ICOBOL Network client (NT/Windows 2000/2003) runtime does not require a terminal emulation.

Printers

The most current model impact printer is supported. We recommend:

    • Okidata 320 and 321 as check and coupon printer. (Turbo models do not work on IBM RS/6000 in serial mode.)
    • Okidata 390 and 395 as report printer. (Turbo models do not work on IBM RS/6000 in serial mode.)
    • Epson FX 880.
    • HP4SI, HP4, HP4plus, HP5, HP5SI, HP4000, HP8000 with optional duplexing as a Mortgage Banker document printer. Lexmark and IBM laser printers that support HP PCL 5.
    • Networks: Printers should be network connected and defined on the server, then shared to the network (recommended). USB printers are not supported with ICOBOL 2.xx.

All printers should be purchased with the serial interface cards or an HP Jet Direct card if Ethernet connection is used. The laser printer needs both a letter and legal paper tray mounted in the printer at the same time. The laser printer must have at least two megabytes of memory.

A high speed printer is acceptable as a report printer. Data Products and Printronix are common brands. MC cannot support all brands of printers but will give aid where possible.

Depending on the size of the organization, more printers may be necessary. The check printer for MB and the check printer for LS can be the same printer. These represent the recommended minimum amount of printers required by Mortgage Computer.

Modems

100% Hayes compatible 28800 or higher recommended. Modems have been replace with Internet access. If you have a need for a modem please contact systems support.

Communication

WebEx or pcAnywhere by Symantec are the recommended and supported communication software. They allow remote diagnostics, support, training, and transfer of files/programs over a modem or Internet connection. On a UNIX system with a PC connected using Telnet and TCP/IP for file transfer, SmarTerm Office is recommended.

Directory Structure

UNIX

    /mc ***
This is either a logical disk or a directory created on the system. This will contain the /mcadata /mcaobj and /cobol directories. If this directory is not located in the / directory, a link is created in the / directory.

Windows 2000/2003

    Server: c:\mc
This will contain the \mcadata \mcaobj folders. c:\program files\icobol folder on the server and workstation . The c:\mc folder is shared and then mapped on each workstation as the same drive letter (example c:\mc on the server is mapped as m:\ on each workstation).
