Installation for Versions 10, 11 and 12
  • Insert CD into drive; it should automatically start the install program. Click Yes to install. If the install program doesn't start automatically, select Start on your taskbar, then Run, then Browse to the CD-ROM drive and select Setup.exe. Click Open and this should display Setup.exe along with the path to the file in the Run window. Click OK and the install program will start.
  • Ensure English is selected and then click OK.
  • Click Next.
  • Input Name, Company, and License Number.
  • Click Yes if information is correct.
  • Click Next on Select Additional Languages.
  • Select Single User (default) and then Click Next.
  • Click Next on Profiles Path (leave as default).
  • Click Next on Select Installation Type (default is Typical).
  • Click Yes to create or overwrite folder.
  • Deselect Microsoft SNA Server and then click Next.
  • Click Next on Select Program Folder (this uses the default).
  • Click Install on Confirm Setup.
  • The system will install needed files at this time displaying file moves.
  • Click Finish at Installation Complete.
  • Click OK to fill out registration.
  • Select Y or N to install Adobe Acrobat Reader (only select Y if it is not installed on your system.)
  • Store your CD and registration number in a safe place.

Configuration for Versions 10, 11 and 12

  • Select Start on the taskbar, Programs, SmarTerm Office, SmarTerm Office.
  • Click on Data General DASHER Session.
  • Click Next.
  • Click Telnet, then click Next.
  • Input your IP address and then click OK.
  • Login to your UNIX system.
  • Select Properties/Emulation/Colors.
  • Select Current Color Scheme, Midnight Blue, click OK.
  • Select Tools/Keyboard Maps/Edit.
  • Select Enter key on the number pad (top keyboard).
  • Click Unmap.
  • Click NL on bottom keyboard and then click MAP.
  • Click File/Save (it will default to Map).
  • Click OK/Close Map Editor.
  • Click File/Save Session and name it a unique name.
  • Click Save.
  • Exit SmarTerm.
