Credit Bureau - Metro 2

Question

How do I create a test file for Metro 2 Credit Reporting?

Answer

A test file should be submitted to and approved by each credit bureau you report to.

To create a test file or a "live file," follow these steps:

      1. Enter the identifier numbers for each credit bureau reported to. Also enter your company's identification number in Field 5 (03.17.11.5).
      2. Create the Metro 2 file in RUN AND UPDATE (03.17.11.3)
      3. Transfer the file, lsmetro2.txt, to your PC using EDI-Plus, Metro 2.
      4. Indicate to the credit bureau(s) if the file is a test file or a live file. FTP the file, lsmetro2.txt, to the credit bureau(s) from your PC using binary mode.

Note: Do not view the file in a file editor. This can change the file and make it unreadable.
