Downloading Technical Support

I'M GETTING AN ERROR INDICATING THE URL OR FILE CAN'T BE LOCATED FOR DOWNLOAD.

MC FTP is in Ogden, Utah, on NT Server (mcoffice) or UNIX Server (Konnections) in SLC. The servers can be very busy at times with hundreds of people accessing them. If you get errors indicating that the URL or file can't be found, etc., please try again later.

Netscape reports that the file "is not found" when it is actually just timing out while trying to access the FTP server. The files are in fact there, but Netscape cannot get to them when the server is too busy. You may want to try the download again later, or hit the "reload" button until it is able to connect.

THE FILE I DOWNLOADED WILL NOT UNZIP PROPERLY!

When downloading a file from the Web (actually your browser is "FTPing" the file) sometimes the download can abort and your browser will not inform you of the error. Check the size of the file you downloaded against the size listed on the page. If they don't match, then the download failed. Download failures are quite common with Web browsers and often there is little that can be done to avoid them. All you can do is attempt to download the file again, or try using an FTP program to download instead of the Web browser.

MC recommends you use

or

or higher for DOS, OS2, Windows and Unix.

I'M AN AOL USER AND I'M HAVING PROBLEMS DOWNLOADING!

AOL does not automatically log you in to our FTP site as anonymous for FTP downloads if you are using their Web browser. In order to perform an anonymous FTP download with AOL, you will need to manually log in using the AOL FTP service in the "Internet Connection" area located off of the main menu for AOL. MC's FTP site allows anonymous access for downloading files. You simply use the word anonymous as your login and your e-mail address for the password. Once you have logged in, you may download our files through the AOL FTP interface. Hopefully, AOL will update their Web browser to support downloading.
